From May 20 to 22, the Barcelona-Pittsburgh Biennial Conference will be held in Barcelona, organized by Fundació ACE and the ADRC of the University of Pittsburgh.
The current edition, number 12 since the project began in 1998, will focus on the latest advances in treatment and biomarkers.
The program will start with two workshops, taught by internationally renowned experts, on ethical aspects of the diagnosis of dementia and on behavioral disorders of the person with dementia.
The current edition of the conference will place special emphasis on the emergence of Alzheimer’s Disease blood markers and the development of monitoring techniques for TAU protein deposition in the brain.
The event will be attended by representatives of the most important clinical trials of the moment. The most relevant projects in the field of dementia promoted by the European Commission will also be presented, through the European Innovative Medicines (IMI) initiative.
Finally, the program contemplates the holding of two round tables on advances in genetic research. One of them will be exclusively dedicated to the CHARGE consortium on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the realization of the first Alzheimer’s meta-GWAS in history.
